From the Corner of My Eye

I was at the same friend's house, again, using the Wi-Fi. Since the very first time that I had pulled into that driveway, I would see from the corner of my eye, a white figure. As if it were coming out of the garage door & walking up a small but very steep hill toward the house. The moment that I had seen this figure, I would look up & focus my attention to it & it would be gone. As if this wasn't strange enough, what kept getting my attention was the path it was taking out of the garage. There was an obvious walkway with stairs to easily navigate the very steep, uphill terrain which led directly to the front porch & branched off to reach the back porch as well. But this was not the path that I seen this figure taking. I would shrug it off, shake my head & just assume it was the smoke from my cigarette or an animal or whatever. Then again, I saw the same white figure, moving in the same way & same direction the next night I was there. Then again, & again. Always the same figure & always the same path. And, as always, one look & it was gone. So one night, It happened again & without thinking, I just blurted out what I had been seeing to the guy that lived across the street. He said "Dude, just a few months ago, the guy that used to live here overdosed & died right in the garage. He never walked up the sidewalk to the house, he would go right out that door & on up the hill right to the house." I was taken-a-back for a second. But nowhere near as shocked as he was.
